To preserve and display the unique history of the fishing industry of Delta and its important connection with the Fraser River Estuary.
In 2009 we met as a group of Delta pioneers and pioneer families who were interested in the history of the commercial fishing industry combined with the symbiotic relationship of the ecological importance of the Lower Fraser River Estuary to the fish, bird and fauna habitat.
We pursued the idea of establishing a museum that would display the rich heritage of Delta from the beginning of aboriginal subsistence fishing to the present commercial fisheries. We envision the museum to be an educational center, including the history and heritage of people involved in the fishing industry from a variety of pioneer groups.
Currently we are developing a project to restore a historic wooden gillnetter.
